About 180 Adventure

180 Adventure was created to fill a gap in navigation events available to adventure racers in the Madison, Wisconsin area. The key disciplines of adventure racing include running/trekking, mountain biking, paddling, orienteering/navigation and ropes work. While it's not difficult to find places to bike, run, paddle and even practice climbing/ascending/rappeling, racers ARE limited to precious few local orienteering events to formally practice navigation. 180 Adventure hopes to provide more opportunities for local racers to practice navigating in each of the disciplines: paddling, biking, and trekking, both at day and night, using a variety of map scales and styles similar to what they might use in "real" race.

Although our initial target group was adventure racers, our outdoor "treasure hunts" appeal to many outdoorspeople. Casual adventurers, families, and weekend warriors are all welcome.

Our goal is to keep costs low, thereby keeping the events accessible to all.
